This extensive home renovation focused on completely transforming the interior foundation of the house by replacing dated, heavily used Saltillo tile with a stunning, eco-friendly reclaimed hardwood floor. The expansive open-concept living and kitchen area was instantly modernized and warmed by the rich, varied tones of the new wood. The project spanned the entire main living space, covering entryways, hallways, the kitchen, a powder room, and a beautifully detailed staircase, resulting in a cohesive, timeless aesthetic.
Project Challenge
Replacing Saltillo tile is notoriously labor-intensive. The thick, uneven nature of traditional clay tiles requires heavy demolition, extensive dust management, and meticulous subfloor preparation to ensure a perfectly level base for the new hardwood. Furthermore, the layout of the home presented intricate transition challenges, particularly navigating tight hallways, integrating the new flooring flawlessly into a modern kitchen space, and custom-fitting the hardwood to a multi-landing staircase.

Our team executed a full-scale removal of the old tile and expertly leveled the subfloor to accommodate the new eco-friendly planks. We selected a high-character reclaimed hardwood that instantly injected warmth and organic beauty into the home.
